friendly staff. The infrastructure seems to be in the same condition as it was on our last visit 7 years ago, e.g. paths, parking, etc. The golf itselfs convinces with an interesting layout.

Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen. Es muss unbedingt investiert werden in alle Einrichtungen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Das Frühstück ist gut. -**- The hotel is getting on in years. It is essential to invest in all the facilities. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is good.

We love Troia and whenever we are in Portugal we endeavour to play it. Downside of this trip was that there was no heating in the Clubhouse on what was a chilly December day and no hot water for a shower afterwards.

Very disappointed by the state of maintenance on the course. Such a marvelous design but sadly everything (course, restaurant and club house) is run down and neglected somewhat. The practice area is just a field and the balls are very old and used up. It has definitely seen better days.

Fine course, narrow fairways, some areas not that well maintained.

Nice trip by boat to Troia. The reception was good but unfortunately the buggies were overbooked. The staff in the clubhouse clearly didn’t feel like it and made this very clear. The practice facilities are really embarrassing……… Troia golfcourse is absolutely not recommended, for that money you would be better off playing another course in this area.

Troia is one of my favourite Portuguese golf course and always try to play this course when we are visiting Portugal. Unfortunately our experience was impacted by the maintenance they had done on some of the Greens, which had been hollow tined and sanded. In some cases there was quite a bit of sand which had small stones which affected putting. There was no warning that this work had been undertaken and no offer of a discount on the green fee. What was a little strange was that the work was done randomly so you did not know what the condition of the green would be from hole to hole. Still a lovely place to play golf and will go back. Please next time be a little more considerate to your golfing guests

Golfcourse was in good shape, except the maintenance of the contour of the bunkers which could be better. This was our second visit and we have the impression that the course is not much played because we started at noon and we were the last flight of the day. The reception at the entrance desk was ok but no more than that. Hole 19 was below average: kitchen already closed at 5pm on a Sunday and a waitress who came to say on the doorstep that orders only were taken at the counter ... we were the only visitors there ...

Many years since last played but enjoyed just as much. Some areas need tidying as looks scruffy, greens as difficult to read as ever. Great course.

Played many times before, one of our group favourites, and always a serious challenge that's especially tough when windy & wet! To enjoy feel players need to be under 15 handicap and pretty straight off the tee, as so much sandy waste that's so difficult to escape. Well worth the ferry trip across from Setubal [a much more interesting town than at first glance].

We played this course twice during our golf trip. There is some damage from wild boar activity, particularly on the practice ground. Fortunately, the main playing areas were unaffected, and were generally in good condition. The greens were excellent - quick and consistent. This remains one of my favourite golf courses. It is a good test of golf for anyone and offers an experience unlike many other in Portugal. The ferry trip from Setubal makes the day!

Magnifique parcours. Dommage qu il n y ait aucun dessin des trous sur les départs ou sur la carte de score.

The buggy was far for mint conditions (the throttle wasn't working well and it run out of battery). The course is good

Troia is a great place. Friendly staff and a great course. Today the only issue was the greens that was not cleaned.

Clive Smith 2019-10-21
A very high class golf course. It is probably better suited to the games of low handicappers, but if you select appropriate tees it can be enjoyed by anyone. Large waste areas; extensive bunkering, and small, fast greens all make the course very challenging. In excellent condition at the time of our visit. The clubhouse is very comfortable, and the practice area has everything you need for to warm up for your round. Comined with a ferry trip across the Sado estuary this is a great day out. We will return.

beautiful layout, very challenging from tees to be on the sweet spot of fairways. magnificent views over the bay.. Very well maintained, super greens

Willem de Lange 2019-10-09
Nice course, very difficult due to waste areas instead of rough.

Chris Grindell 2019-09-28

"Holiday"-Course. Easy to Play, in fair condition, many bunkers and waste Areas. Very narrow Course, greens and next tees next to each other. When returning from game at 4:30pm, the kitchen was closed. Thus, no rating of restaurant possible Rating: not more than 5.

Alistair Geddes 2018-11-22
Fabulous course! Such a shame for them it is so quiet but that suited me just fine.. If it was a little cheaper it may attract more players.

Thierry Leroy 2018-11-06

Clive Smith 2018-11-05

Troia is a beautyful golfcourse. Very friendly staff and a unexpected golf expierience. Mostly flat but windy. Playing under palmtrees was very joyful and the greens were like deutsche Autobahn. Very fast. One thing i like to mention is the moscito Plaque. Bring some insect protection with you. There is none in the pro-shop.

Francisco Javier Alvarez Perez 2018-09-10

Dommage ????

Antony Gunn 2017-10-16
Staying in cascais it’s around 2 hrs to Tróia but well worth the trip the course was in great condition but really tuff, leave the fairway & your in sand

Thomas Fraiß 2017-10-16
Troia is - next to Oitavos Dunes - the best course in the surroundings of Lisbon.

Judy Dare 2017-10-12
We very much enjoyed our golf today. It was a pleasure to play fairway woods off lovely grassy fairways. One does need to be accurate as there is so much sand around and not necessarily in the bunkers! A good test of golf. The staff were all delightful and so helpful - we give them five stars. The food and drink were much enjoyed, with a good choice from the menu, when we had a break after 9 holes, before continuing the back 9. Thank you Troia Golf for a lovely days golf.

Helen Pettitt 2017-09-25
We played Troia twice on our trip. We love this course but it stands up to its nickname 'Troia the destroyer'on a windy day. As always lovely helpful staff. We had a nice lunch sitting overlooking the first tee which was very tasty. We will be back

Tom McKeon 2016-10-24
Fantastic course, one of the best we've ever played anywhere in the world. I couldn't praise it high enough.

Paul Johnson 2016-09-19
Excitement builds as you board the ferry to Troia, This was a great start to the three rounds, with a fabulous lunch on the terrace. Quite a tough track first time out, with large waste areas of sand, but very playable with some thought. The greens were dreadful, which was very disappointing. Long grass, slow, uneven and a two putt on every green was about as good as it got. I would hesitate to recommend this course without knowing when the greens are in prime condition. The views and many of the holes were wonderful, such a shame the edge was taken off by the green conditions.

Franco Di Fonzo 2016-07-06
Troia is for great players. This links it seems easy but is very taft. Sand on the side of the fairway give you the possibility of finding the ball, but is very delicate to come out.

Claus Rottinghaus 2016-05-17
Fantastic course. Real links near the ocean.

Tony Seeley 2016-05-14
The best course we played - a formidable challenge - you need to stay positive - open to the wind with fabulous views, small greens, plenty of sand - very quiet - millionaires golf!

Douglas Graham Jones 2016-03-25
It was good to return to Quinta do Peru. The course is still a challenge especially the second nine but I was disappointed by the scale of development which, for me detracted from the experience.

Mehul Patel 2015-11-08
One word. Superb.

Oliver White 2015-10-28

David Sibley 2015-10-19
Great experience but greens let it down.

Chez Carlos Golf Society 2012-02-12
The Society travelled northwards on its annual trip away once again to the Costa Azul region of Lisbon. It was an early start after breakfast at Parkies Cafe for a mid-morning tee off at Troia. Currently ranked 32 in Continental Europe Troia holds the record that Sam Torrance was the only player to beat Par to win the Portuguese Open in 1983. Thomas Levet described it as ‘the toughest course in Europe’. Architect Robert Trent Jones built a masterpiece set amidst sandy dunes and towering pine trees on a coastal peninsular with spectacular views of the mountain range across the ocean. Small greens heavily guarded by large bunkers demand aerial approach shots. The course was in fighting form with the greens set at ‘12’ on the stimpmeter. Anything on the wrong side could result in the ball sliding off into the fringe and beyond. It was a day not for the faint hearted! Great course and well worth the effort getting there.
