The course is in a stunning location, but the tee boxes were in poor condition. Some of the fairways were patchy and the greens very bumpy, sadly. We were a 2 ball in a buggy but we're behind a 3 ball walking and waited on every shot which spoiled the round. Wouldn't rush to go back, especially as 2 coffees before the round cost €12 !!

Not the best of experiences: wind was blowing so hard that the ball would not stay on the greens, flagstick came off and most holes unplayable, a good drive would stop mid-air and turn 90 degrees ... etc. However, they did not deem the course unplayable (of course, since then they would have to return the green fees), only offered me to come again and "play rest of the holes" (wonder how that would have been implemented in practice?). I walked through the entire course, played where I could. General condition was fair, fairways were lacking a bit of grass, greens were in okay condition. The layout was not that good with many steep uphill approaches due to small land area, so a bit overrated as a golf course but on a normal day quite okay.

Des fairways sans herbes, des rough pas tondus et des greens abîmés par un manque d’entretien. Heureusement que le tracé reste beau. Je n’y retournerai pas pour l’instant.

Course layout exceptional and generous fairways, however, greens recently aerated and very slow and poor condition. Weather conditions (30-40 kmph winds) made some of the holes unplayable. Which were a shame after the expense to play. A course where you have to use a buggy due to the vast spread of the course and walk between some of the tees, however, to hire a buggy was very expensive +50 euros which makes a big difference in you day costs. In summary, great venue, great views and course layout but very expensive day. Look at the weather forecast before committing to play.

Les fairways sont assez beau, les greens avaient été carottés en début de mois alors je dirais qu'ils étaient plutot moyen +. Malgré un vent assez fort, il est largement possible de réaliser une belle partie. Je recommande vivement...

Golf dans un environnement boisé situé tout près de Lisbonne, dessiné par le célèbre Robert Trent Jones Junior. Le parcours est proche d'un circuit automobile, cette proximité peut être gênant à certains moment. Le tracé est plutôt intéressant, souvent vallonné et étroit sur quelques trous. Cependant, je trouve que le parcours est moins varié sur les trous situés en milieu de parcours. Les trous 6 et 7 sont vraiment agréables à jouer. Le 6 est un par 5 en descente avec un grand obstacle d'eau sur la partie gauche. Sur la droite se trouve une ancienne ruine antique qui donne un certain charme à ce trou. Concernant l'entretien, il est assez moyen, les greens ne sont vraiment pas bons. Les fairways ne sont pas toujours dans un très bon état. Je trouve le prix du green-fee relativement cher pour la qualité proposée. Ayant joué quelques parcours dans cette région (Praia d'El Rey, Royal Obidos, Oitavos Dunes). C'est celui que j'ai le moins apprécié...

Unfortunately this was not a good experience. In our party of 12 we have several single handicap golfers who were very disappointed. The fairways and course in general is quite challenging and has some really good holes. However the greens were terrible! Most had a viral of fungal disease which left large areas with brown pockmarks so putting in a straight line was impossible. We discussed this with the manager afterwards who was very apologetic and clearly aware of the issue. Had we been advised before we would not have played. If such a problem occurred in other courses prospective players would have been told in advance and no doubt a discount offered if still wanting to play. I have played the course before and found it a good experience so as group organiser I felt let down. I hope that Tee times can follow up.

Excelent golf course, for us much more better than Oitavos... Fairways in very good condition even after heavy rain the day and night before. What was uncomfortably was the pace of play - almost from the second tee we had to wait on every single tee... and no marshal on the course! We d?idn't see any marshal durng the whole round. Design and feeling form the course are really very positive, course seems to always been there.

Some holes (maybe four altogether) on the course were a bit muddy and (understandably) we could only drive on paths which slowed down the speed of play a bit. It was quite windy on higher hills but in general very pleasant experience with nice views! Greens were in good shape. Estoril race track sounds are quite present on the course (depending on the wind direction) but that's not a big harm.

This was an excellent course and facilities. The only thing that took away from our enjoyment was the fact that the buggies were confined to the paths. There was no 90 degree rule in operation and as some of our group are in the late 60's and mid 70's it was a chore for them. On reaching your ball if you had the wrong club with you, rather than cross all the way back to the buggy to get the right one people used the club they had with them..

An interesting and challenging course, but questionable value for money considering we paid £70 each. Some of the fairways were not in great condition - it seems they maintain the course solely for the high profile events that take place here, and aren't too bothered if it's a bit ropey the rest of the time. Furthermore, Estoril racetrack is nearby, and the sound of roaring race cars breaks the relaxation somewhat. Very nice (expensive) clubhouse.

2 years ago Penha Longa suffered also about wet conditions and was not very playable. At Penha however some improvements have been made since that and drainage has been improved significantly (clear marks about it on fairways) and result is that even during winter period with more rainy days, course seems to remain in nice and playable condition. Greens were in very good condition. Overall a very satisfying experience - will be back.

A really great test. very interesting layout and some great views all over the course. Buggy hire is on the prices side, but would recommend due to some extended walks between greens and tees.

Very nice club house and the course has a lot of nice holes.Some holes hvae very good view over the area. It's a little bit hilly and it is very nice. Good restaurant on the top of the clubhouse. Good price
