The One Lisbon Golf opened in 2003, designed by American architect Gary Grandstaff on a steep hillside in Lumiar, ten minutes from Rossio and five kilometres from the airport. It's a genuine city course, not a scaled-down approximation of one.
Nine holes play to a par of 29, seven of them par threes and two par fours, each built to a standard you'd expect on a full-length layout. The round drops away from the clubhouse before climbing back up to it, giving even a short game real teeth. Expect a round of around two hours, sharp enough to fit around a day of sightseeing rather than replace it.
Facilities include a 250-metre covered, illuminated driving range using a water range with floating balls, a golf academy with PGA-certified instructors, and a clubhouse with a VIP lounge serving Portuguese cuisine. Book The One Lisbon Golf through Tee Times for a quick, genuinely central round when a full day on the fairways isn't on the itinerary.
