Unfortunately, when booking this Golf Course, it was not clear to me that there was a big difference between the Monastery Course and the Atlantico Course. Played the Monastery course for the first time and as far as we're concerned the last! The Course was really nothing special and actually a disappointment. Rebooking to the Atlantico course was not possible on site, but had to be rebooked via Teetimes. The Buggys were exceptionally expensive, 48.00 Euro each.

Apart from high quality greens the Monastary course is disappointing. Bunkers and the layout are reasonable. Fairways are low quality and the course is short/prety easy. Long walks between some holes are a con. We tried 18 holes and at the reception we got told it was very quiet on this course. From hole 10 (=1) we were waiting on many flights in front of us untill the point we were with 4 flights on the short par 4 14th. We gave up and hit the showers. The showers were'nt clean. Knowing from the past the Championship (Atlantic) Course is such a great joy the Monastary was a very disapointing experience. Better not try Penha Longa (also the Championship course) when its a somewhat rainy day, balls plug in fairways big time. Only pro was the deal from teetimes, 35 euro's for 18 holes (I mean 13) is ok.

A beautiful course!! We were upgraded to the Atlantic 18 hole course and offer buggies at 30 euros as the greens had suffered some kind of disease and were being repaired but still playable. The views were spectacular and people very friendly as always in Portugal.

The Course is very nice, not as impressive as the 18hole Atlantic at Penha Longa but well maintained too. Price pritty high for only 9 holes, I would recommend a buggy (long way between holes), 40 Euro for buggy only, no water included. Booking only with teetimes is cheaper than directly with the club (no reduction for hotel guest eather).

Great course with fantastic staff and a very helpful caddie master..my only slight moan was the price of a buggy. I paid £50 to play and another £50 for a buggy which does feel a bit much as buggy’s are priced at less than half that price in the uk..

We found that it was difficult to find on our satnave because of new roads creates in recent years. However, the road signage was non existent which kis bad marketing.
The bar and restaurant was closed for refurbishment. It would have been nice to know before we visited
The course was enjoyable but in need of attention. It looked a little neglected and the signage is poor and needs painting at the very least
We were surprised to have to pay 60 euros for a buggy having just been to play Quinta South with a buggy price of 37.5 euros.

We had high expectation regarding the visual point of view of the course taking the pictures you can find back on the internet into account but we were a bit disappointed. A lot of holes are played on a 'open' plateau which we didn't expect and was visually less appealing. Apart from this, tee boxes-fairways and greens were in good condition. The staff, especially at the font desk, were very friendly. The tapas, especially the croquettes, were great.

Course is fine but overpriced compared to others. Signage on course is tired and poor. Very disappointing that guests can’t bring buggies to car park and have to carry golf bags up and down flights of stairs. We won’t return.

In generally my opinion is exceptional golf course compared to any other Lisbon area courses.
Some minor minuses were: rangeball dispenser was not available on Mon 3rd of Oct.
Restaurant was not open on Monday although the course was fully booked from early morning till late evening.
We were playing from white tee and it was confusing that white/black tees were missing totally on 14th teebox.
And last but not least on Mon 3rd trolleys were not available and only buggy or carry on bag were options. This was also very strange for the high quality course invwhich many players only visit once during their stay
Wish this leads to even better Oitavos
Best regards,
Pasi Olenius

Very nice course. Perfect. Only a pity that restaurant/bar was closed due to private party. They did not tell upfront. And the 19th hole was our final destination for the long weekend with our own ceremony awards etc. We had to move this to our accomodation. So course a 8.

Serviço de atendimento excecional. Um campo que é ao mesmo tempo bonito e desafiante proporcionando uma experiência de golfe agradável.
Located on the famous Estoril Coast, 25 kilometers from Lisbon, the Quinta da Marinha course was designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones and is set in a private estate of 110 hectares, wooded with pine trees. The architect has worked on the flat terrain, laying out the course over 5870 metres for a Par 71. The most spectacular hole on this course is hole number 3, a Par 4 of 334 metres sloping down towards the sea. Once on the green, the golfer has the Atlantic Ocean as background. The whole of Quinta da Marinha's course is surrounded by beautiful panoramic views. The following hole (a Par 3) requires a very precise shot for the ball to cross a cliff and reach a wide but not very deep green. For most of the course, however, the fairways face inland with the beautiful outline of the Sintra mountain range forming their background. Many bunkers and a number of lakes make the player's task even more difficult. Hole number 10, for instance, has a green entirely surrounded by water. (...)

This was the 3rd time we played this course on this trip and the condition was improved on previously with better coverage on the fairways. The tees are uneven with poor overall coverage, the bunkers also poor and there are some scruffy bare areas around the greens. The overall design of the course is good and there are some attractive views towards the sea.
It was very hot and we couldn’t get a buggy as they were all booked out, advice is to pre-reserve if one is required.

Great course in the hills around Sintra with fantastic views. Tee boxes and fairways were ok, but the greens weren't in a good shape because of a lot of bald spots. The greens were not in good condition, patchy in places and overall the course wasn't the standard we would expect. They were hollow tyning the greens so only played holes 1-9 on championship course. We had to walk back to club house from the 9th and this took at least 15 minutes. We also played 9 holes on Monastery course and the green were also poor on this nine, they were patchy in places. The staff were friendly and helpful. They were hosting an ECB banking conference the day we played so there was a lot of security onsite.

The course is in a stunning location, but the tee boxes were in poor condition. Some of the fairways were patchy and the greens very bumpy, sadly. We were a 2 ball in a buggy but we're behind a 3 ball walking and waited on every shot which spoiled the round. Wouldn't rush to go back, especially as 2 coffees before the round cost €12 !!

Estoril Golf Club dates back to 1929 in its first nine-hole version and it was built by Fausto de Figueiredo, the gambling concessionaire at the Estoril Casino. In the new design, the former 9th hole disappeared, and an alteration was made to the fairway of the 13th hole - the famous Patiño’s hole - that now has a dogleg to the right and the second shot is played from the area where the old green was located. The green is now on a higher level. With the disappearance of the 9th hole it was necessary to build another hole, which is now number 13, a par 3 of 160 metros in length.|Finally, the 16th hole has a re-designed green but it is still a par 3, 186 metres long, but 15 metres shorter than the previous one, and it is considered by many players to be one of the best holes in Portugal.
