Royal Obidos golf course is one of the newst golf courses in the West region. Designed by Severiano Ballesteros this golf course gives an important contribution to a rising golf region just west of Lisbon. A Par 72 Championship course with long fairways, ( the course layout spanning 6400mt) and stunning seaside views makes Royal Obidos not only an wonderfull course to play but also will represent a true test of golf for players of all levels.
Course in excellent condition and great to see maintenance taking place including aerating greens and top dressing of tees and greens approaches. These works did not affect play and will further enhance the course condition for future players Magnificent views on the day and good service in the clubhouse after our round
Fantastic course in amazing condition
Fantastic golf course
Beautiful course. Also excellent staff, they are very kind, helpful and true professionals.
First time playing. Nice course layout with a great variety of holes. Rough thick and wet after 2 days of rain, but still excellent playing conditions. Will be back.
Great course in perfect condition

Superb facility and golf course. Staff very welcoming and very polite. I would highly recommend this course for any enthusiastic golfer or society. This course is for all handicaps as a wide variety of tees can be used depending on your golfing ability. A++ service provided throughout our day.
Excellent service from pro shop and bar/waiting staff, great course layout with superbly conditioned fairways. Disappointing to find greens were partly tined and all sand dressed which spoilt it somewhat for me.
Nice course in immaculate condition with fast greens. Good fitness level required to walk the course due to hilly terrain. Very friendly and helpful service. Definitely a golf course to be recommended.
Loved the course back 9 were terrific although for too hard for mee
Course in good condition. Some light sanding around greens but overall it was good to play although challenging.
Rogier de Snoo
Awesome and tough course. Lots of water in play and lightning fast greens. Good pricing.
Also needs more buggies. Course is great with each hole different and challencing. Rough was slightly too long but the reason might have been the Challence Tour game on weekend before when we played on monday and tuesday? I would really like to return to Royal Obidos one day.
Very nice golf course.
Course in magnificent condition.well manicured and greens awesome fast and true.. un fortunately it was over booked with poor golfers and rangers did not keep course moving we surrendered as a 2 Ball following a six ball after 11 holes and 3 hours and 40 mins almost almost an hour on 2 holes. Sympathy but no recompense from staff. It is busy was the comment but it won't attract golfers if that continues which would be a shame
S M Roughton-Smith
Challenging golf course, fairways and greens in very good condition. Greens really fast.
Everything was really good. fabulous clubhouse, changing area. Just a pity there was no beer buggy as it was very warm.
Fabulous golf course. Staff very welcoming and efficient.
Martin Georg Hilke
Putting greens very fast, „First cut“ on the courses currently too high.
Golf course with beautyful landscape with sea view. Large fareways with very fast greens. Unfortunately buggy was not ready at teetime. To many slow players. Ready golf not yet practiced.
Excellent condition the day after the Portuguese open and a lovely course with spectacular views of the lagoon and ocean on the front 9 , greens very fast , the only drawback was once again the pace of play , 5hours 20 minutes , stuck behind a group of guys who didn’t know how to play golf never mind call people though . NO MARSHELLING at any point , reported it after in golf shop where they just passed the buck saying they had already told the caddy master , I then went to caddy master who was long gone and told a young staff member to relay my serious disappointment with no Marshalls , he said he was on his own all afternoon and could not leave area , funny thing was at the 9th there were several staff in caddy master area and a drinks cart doing the rounds - clearly pace of play is not important to management , would have given a 9 only for this in the review
Parfait. À découvrir avant la fin du programme immobilier
What an amazing Golf…
Absolutely brilliant, the weather was really wet,but getting better. The lads on the desk let us play a few holes and welcomed us back tomorrow to play our 18 holes. Enjoyed a good meal afterwards, can’t wait to play tomorrow. Thanks to all concerned,we will highly recommend.
Best Course after West Clifs.
Driving range ball machine delivered half the balls.....tech issue. Fabulous distance and great use of water and obstacles to protect greens......which were very slow with sand treatment. Starter kindly started us off tee 10 to avoid a larger group in front scheduled on tee 1.
Good course. Played twice. First time started in the fog so missed some views. Can be a long walk from green to the next tee, especially from 1 to 2. Enjoyable.
1st class day , buggy paths a bit rough !
Lovely clubhouse. Good views. Challenging approach shots over water.
Unfortunately the day we played there was a sea mist that hung around all day, so we could not fully appreciate Royal Obidos. As many morning tee times were cancelled, the caddy master did a great job of communicating with us and trying to organise adjusted times. The course (as far as we could see!) was fine with some very challenging holes and in good condition. Course was full and it was a 4.5 hour round
Great course,very nice
It is a very nice course, We appreciate very much!
Good layout but poorly maintained and very slow greens and very thick semi fairways
Great course, fairways in great shape. Tee boxes were very sandy and uneven. Greens unfortunately were not consistent. The course has been better in previous years
Best course around Obidos.
Royal Obidos was an excellent course
Really nice course, not quite to the standard of PDR or Westcliffs
Course layout is fantastic but sadly the condition was very poor today. So wet, buggies sliding and getting stuck, balls plugging even on fairways.
Well worth playing if also visiting Praia de Rey and west links. Not quite as good as the other two but layout with water coming into play on many holes is challenging and fair . Plenty of risk reward decisions to be made. Greens were painfully slow during our visit. Allow 4. Hours 40 minimum for the round.
Another beautiful day. Nice course with direct sea view. Extraordenary holes. Very good restaurant with friendly service.
Nice lay out. Some difficult holes. Maintenance ok.
Another good course
A beautiful and challenging course with good condition. Golf Service was top and Clubhouse is worth visiting
Perfekt, friendly und great pleasure
Lovely maintained course. Staff very friendly. Overall lovely time had by everyone
Jean Paul Smets
Great course. Excellent holes. Very nice staff.
Course not in as good condition as the other 2 we played and one or two of the tees were poor.....good layout nonetheless. Setting lacks soul given the underdeveloped site....
This is a great golf course. Very difficult but a great experience.
Good course layout but challenging in the wind. Course in very good condition with the greens being fast and true. Spectacular views from the clubhouse. Some long walks between green and tee so it was good to have buggies
One of the longest courses I have played, greens are lighting. Very nice set up and a great course but you need to be long of the tee. Nice clubhouse and Club sandwich the best in the area. :
One of my favourite courses in the area which allows you to get the driver out regularly, great par fives to score on, staff very helpful.
Lovely course long and testing.
As expected. A good experience.
Disappointing due to slow play, we had to abandon the game after 9 holes in order to make sure we got to the airport on time.
Great course design and location . Really tough back nine but fair
Great course and a really friendly welcome, I have been going here since it opened and has never disappointed.
Nice course. Very crowded. Double Tee Times ( 1 and 10 ) in the morning. Staff / Greenkeepers drive in Front of you. Range Basket 5 Euros ..... Coffee and Food compared to 2017 disappointing ....stopped playing after 9 holes ....
Hans Juergen Roethig
A difficult course, without course knowledge not easy. In good condition.

It was now the eighth time I played at Royal Obidos with friends and it is still a great Golfcourse. The course is beautiful. It was very busy, many guests from the hotel played with various handycaps, so the round was very long, 6 hours! Many building activities for the hotel make the stay in the hotel less pleasant!
Lovely course but very slow round due to on course congestion even though we were told it wasn't busy.
Great Course staff very friendly and pace of play very good
Very good price and value for money . Course in fabulous order, greens running fast and true .
Great bar and food service
Hell of a course. Very long and very challenging for any golfer.
A challenging course with a lot of water in the play. Fairways were excellent and the greens in good condition. Hospitality was perfect.
Very good course, great variety in the holes. Challenging if you’re not a long hitter
Quite repetitive course with one or two good holes. Good conditioning but not very exciting. Friendly staff
Great place. Any time again
Very good. Fantastic Golfcourse.
Best service around the booking of the Teetime spectacular golf course very well maintained fairways
The atmosphere is a bit unpleasant. NOT like most Portuguese golf clubs. But the course is ok, especially the front nine is nice. After the game the bar was empty - so we skipped it too.
Hallo, everything was ok, nearly nice. Thank you. Just at Praia del Rey there you booked us (2xpeters and 2xbuhk) at the same Time in different flight. From Tee 1 and Tee 10. - Long discussion for changing, but it works. Greatings Regine from Hamburg
Excellent outcome, great rate, and very good to be able to talk to someone on the telephone with any questions i had. Excellent and I will continue to use teetimes in the future. A+
Very enjoyable course with very helpful and friendly staff . Will definitely return .
Good Mosquitos a bit hungry!
Hard to walk. Not my favourite golfcourse.would have been better to leave nature as it was before. A lot of unfinished building around.
Friendly welcome and had everything I had asked for.
As always, friendly & efficient.
3 of us played Royal Obidos on Saturday - great course, friendly helpful staff and lovely lunch. Booked in advance thriugh Tee times - all worked great. Looking forward to returning ASAP!
We enjoyed the course but would like to be advised that the greens had just being hollow toning and sanded. Plenty of channelling holes.
Another great day of golf
.Great golf course. Booking was so easy and the welcome was good.
Great Course!! 5 and a half hour round not good. people on the course who clearly have no handicap. One person in group in front of us had played 8 shots and was still short of the fairway.
Difficult to get a Buggyat the day you have your teetime. They seem to be rare and you need to make reservations in advance.
Very nice and challaging course.
Nice course lack of any run on the fairways made it play long. A lot of blind shots. We hired one set of clubs that turned out to have lady flex shafts in, no offer of a refund was made.
Nice course really frogy but that life
First time. Pleasant courteous staff. Good facilities. Great first holes. Enjoyed it. Fairways a bit too wet though
Excellent course. Very nice staff. A pity it was very busy in the course so I had a slow round. But I enjoyed it very much.
Get's better every time we play here. In great condition allowing for the tining and good value too. Slow play a minor issue
Better condition than ever
Enjoyed this course. Very windy on the day we played but a lovely layout.
An excellent course, good staff at all levels Whole day out a lot of fun so much better than Penha Longa on Monday Att to detail around course good Coffee shop to check in all very pleasant
Great course and very enjoyable. Slight downer because the group in front was rather slow but overall excellent experience
Eric de Bruin
Nice to play on a `Seve` golf course. Clubhouse has very good views.
No drinks trolley
Mr A B Moss
Generally too difficult for amateur golfers found it difficult to determine between the fairways and rough. Found the buggy an absolute necessity as there were long distances between greens and next tee.
Good course Helpful and friendly Poor food
Course was empty which is a worrying sign for the future - only 22 players scheduled to play!! Greens (on both the course and practice area) looked as bad as we have ever seen them but putted OK on the them.....they were so much slower than in all of our previous visits. Apart from greens, course was well presented and in good condition. Speed of play was good but no course ranger in sight.
Always in great condition and friendly welcome. Round was slow though - took over 5 hours as course was busy
Second time we played this course. Because of the wind the course is more difficult. Just like the other time and courses in the neighbourhood, you pay a lot of money if you haven’t luck with the players in front of you.. a marshall should regulate slow players... that will add value to all the players! That’s why this time I rate this course 6 instead of 8
A great course in a fantastic location. Some tremendous holes, very fast greens and a welcoming clubhouse. Take a buggy, we carried and were knackered by the end - long walks between holes. Can't wait to play it again
Royal Obidos is beautiful course with fascinating sights
Absolutely beautiful playing course. We loved it. Carts included in the price. Had to pay for 2nd 9 hole replay. Again silly policy if you already paid for them.
Very nice course, seems easy, but isn’t so easy, nice people at the reception
great course in very good condition again . will return
Mr Matthew Cohen
Very scenic and playable course. Lots of water hazards making risk reward decisions interesting. Wide fairways and large greens so not over penal if you are a bit off line. Fabulous clubhouse, good food offering at reasonable prices. Good range, except we were told we couldn't use it (without prior notice) as they were about to cut the outfield! Poor customer service in this regard.
The course was much better this year as some of the scrubland had been cleared. It was challenging but fair and we really enjoyed playing it even the long par 5 second! We were well looked after and Jose on the reception gave us the name of an excellent restaurant for the evening which was a real bonus. The condition of the course was exceptional and it was a real pleasure to have played it.
Very nice staff Great course, in excellent condition No water in the buggy's no pencil, no score cards The buggy's confined to the cart parts were a nuisance, but it was a bit wet in places, so fully understand. But it would have been nice to be told. A pull trolly, would have made more sense! Expensive drinks
just beautiful , we enjoyed ourselves very much there, great views, great open space...
Golf très agréable à jouer.
Very good layout.
well received by the staff and the course was well maintained.
An excellent golf course, very challenging and buggy is highly recommended In good condition with good an helpful reception staff.
A very nice course, a couple of stunning viewpoints oriented both to the sea and to the mountains. Starting with hole 10 is a bit challenging as the second 9 holes are more difficult than the first 9.
Very difficult. You need a buggy but even our better golfers found the course hard.
Fantastic course. Check in staff very helpful and we changed to a later time. No marshal on course and round was quite slow. However still very enjoyable
Transferred our round here due to fog, opted for buggies after two previous times here, & a wise choice as so hilly and speed of round, as the fog descended at dusk. Course has matured significantly in the last two years. Good condition, definitely one to come back to again and again.
Royal Obidos was an excellent golf course, very enjoyable, challenging and exciting. I would highly recommend it to all golfers.
This is a challenging course, I am certain championship set up. But saying that it was in very good condition and the views were wonderful. But unless you are a very very long hitter, don't expect to play too near your handicap - just enjoy the ambiance.
Great condition. We timed our game there perfectly as a few days later, they undertook their summer dressing of the greens which made them virtually unplayable. We would have been very disappointed if we had turned up to play and saw the greens covered in sand and full of tining holes. They were offering a 25% discount due to the summer maintenance work which we felt was Insufficient due to the impact of not being able to putt properly on the greens (for circa 2 weeks). In normal circumstances a most enjoyable course and we will return.
michiel de heer
Beautiful course but many 4 balls and close to coast so quite some days with mist
My favourite course. Great holes, great views, great service. Get a buggie it will help!!!
Excellent practice facilities to mean hitting off turf with new range balls. Course in excellent condition. Staff in the restaurant are very accommodating.
Pleasant welcome from staff. Good value.
As wonderful as ever. Course in excellent condition.
We had a happy holiday in a wonderful golf course with a fantastic view .
Excellent course: although level of greenkeeping is a bit lower than Praia d'el Rey we have really enjoyed the experience. People from staff were extremely kind and the clubhouse is stunning: Royal obits is a great option to play in this area
Clearly no 1 course on our trip. Everything was in top condition (e.g. fastest greens) and course challenges players at all levels. Beatiful views, difference between holes etc. Absolutely the best!
Really a excellent golf course with all facilities you can wish. Outstanding, really a challange.
Great course looks lonely with just infrastructure and no houses but the shop staff and buggy staff always cheerful and considerate.
Definitely a challenge.
Richard John Dentith
Great course and great experience. Condition was very good (apart from a few tees) and the speed of play was acceptable. Special note of thanks to pro shop staff who were very helpful and friendly. Remembering my name the second time we played does make the customer feel good, and they managed to secure us a much needed buddy for the second round.
This is a must play course if you are in Lisbon. Seve's magic is evident and the food and staff excellent for lunch and dinner. Beautiful setting and one to watch over the coming years as it matures. These were the best greens by far.
The golf course at Royal Obidos was superb. The greens were smooth and quick, the layout exciting and the customer service brilliant.
Mark Richard Thomson
Very welcoming and friendly club which will played on two occasions being the course which was the nearest to our accommodation. It was in magnificent condition and of all the courses we played I think this was the one that anybody would want to play again if forming part of a golf tour, because there were a lot of interesting holes where a little more knowledge would help on the second visit.
Some tough holes (some average ones also) and overall a nicely designed and maintained golf course. A bit negative are some long walks between green and next tee (1-2, 7-8). Helpful and friendly staff at reception and in the restaurant. Neverless I think Quinta do Vale is a better and more challenging design and easier to walk
A great golf course and the greens were as slick as ever. Always in top condition.
LOL. Great championchip course with beautiful view. Service in clubhouse was excellent.
great experience, excellent condition for a relatively new course. clubhouse relaxed and friendly
Tough course but very enjoyable. We will probably take a buggy if we go here in future.
Nice new course in good condition
Need a buggy long walks trees to tees especially 1 to 2. Staff attentive and directed us to 10th tee to enable clear round not following novice 4 balla
Again Another Great Course with some great views. You will not forget Hole 2 par 5.
Good fun, but would have preferred to start on the 1st hole rather than the 10th.
Don't like teeing off on 10 but appreciate this may have been to avoid the large coach party who turned up as we checked in. Otherwise a great course in good condition. No electric trolleys so not sure whether they had all been pre-booked by the coach party or whether they no longer hired them but again see these as essential for the course. Love playing it though and will definitely be back
A world class golf course. As with Praia Del Rey above, we were disappointed to start from the 10th tee, particularly as the course seemed very quiet both days we were there. Great value for money; and a wonderful clubhouse.
*Buggy Recommended -
*Water hazards -
*Signature Hole - the 3th par 3 with a island green
